The Inverell Saints will make their second trip to Tamworth in as many rounds on Saturday to take on the Tamworth Swans in ROund 2 of the CETAFL. Both teams are coming off narrow first round losses and will be keen to get their first win of the season on the board this weekend.
The Saints enter the match with 6 changes to last week's side that went down to the Roos, mostly due to other committments. The Saints will welcome debutants Ben Mutimer, Keiran Te Velde and Peter Heath. Heath is on loan from Queensland club Glenmore FC and has shown plenty of potential at Saints training this week. He will line up at Full Forward and is sure to add spark to the Saints forward line.
The Saints will once again look to ruck Joe Kimmince to provide first use of the ball out of the centre, and will be looking to improve on the number of clearances from stoppages. The Roos dominated first use of the ball in Round 1, and Saints coach Darren Bailey is relying on Jono Elphick and Beau Ryan to provide drive through the middle. The defense will be led by stalwart Bruce Wall, who returns to the starting line up at Centre Half Back. His experience was missed at times last week, and he is sure to add plenty of muscle to the defense. With a couple of notable absences, the two wingman bring a total of one match experience into this game, but loads of run and dash. Will Kenny and Te Velde will be looking to give plenty of pace through the middle of the ground and have shown at training this week that they have come along in leaps and bounds since taking up the Sherrin this year.
The Saints will be keen to chalk one up in the winners column and should be ready for this big match. All players are reminded to be at the ground by 1pm.
