The Inverell Saints will travel to Tamworth for the second time in two weeks this weekend to take on the Tamworth Swans at Number One Oval. Both the Saints and Swans are last start losers and both were conquered by the top of the table Roos. The Swans were reportably unlucky against the Roos, leading for most of the game before being over run in the finish. The Saints were handed 4 points by virtue of a forfeit last week and will be freshened by the week off.
The Saints enter the game almost at full strength with only Bruce Wall missing from the backline due to suspension. The full list to choose from has been welcomed by Coach Dick Gleeson but would have provided plenty of headaches at the selection table. The Saints will have to watch some the of Swans dangermen, particularly Lachlan Rowlings through the midfield. The Saints have had the measure of the Swans in the last few meetings, but the Saints still remember the Prelim Final of 2006 where they were soundly beaten by the red hot Swans. The Saints will draw confidence from a Round 1 trip where they beat the Swans by 40 points but will still need to be at their best.
A win is vital for both teams and it should be a close one.
Players are reminded to meet the bus at 9.30am at the Royal.
