The club will travel to Tamworth's Number One oval to play the Tamworth Swans in a game that is expected to be close all day. The two clubs have met twice this year with the Swans coming away with narrow victories. The Saints have some injury concerns with fullback Bruce Wall suffering from a shin injury and forward Dave Kent a hamstring strain. Both players are undergoing treatment this week in a bid to be fit for the big game. The Swans will be smarting after their last kick of the day loss to the Nomads last week, and the Saints will be looking for a fast start - as they had against the Kangaroos a fortnight ago, in an attempt to put the Swans in a position of having to play catch up football. Both clubs have in-form forward lines capable of posting big scores, so defence could be the key to a win.
In the meantime the Saints under 16's are through to the TAFL under 16's grand final after the Swans forfeited the preliminary final to be played this weekend in Inverell. The Swans cited lack of player numbers and an unwillingness to travel by some of the players and officials. The Saints are thrilled to be in their first grand final but are disappointed at the lack of commitment shown by the Swans. The Saints will now play the Kangaroos in Armidale next weekend.
