The Inverell Saints have once again succumbed to the might of the New England Nomads after losing to the reigning premier by 174 points at Bellebue Oval on Saturday.
Questions need to be asked of the players commitment after their third succesive loss which now sees the Club in a battle to host the minor semi final in a few weeks time. The Saints, which now sits in equal third on the TAFL Ladder with the Gunnedah Bulldogs, were seemingly guaranteed a major semi finals berth only a month ago before the losses.
It looked promising early for the visitors as they led mid way through the first term before the reigning premiers put on their after burners to annihilate the Saints.
The Saints, as was the story in their meeting at Bellevue Oval earlier in the year, were kept goaless for the remainder of the game and clueless to combating the might of the Nomads.
The players need to take the brunt of the blame as commitment and skill has been the primary issues for the loss of form.
For those who have been with the Club for some years, it's a sad tale of lost opportunities in recent years. It seems lackadaisical training attendance & performance is accepted which is being carried over into match days. This needs to be addressed now and eliminated from the Club.
We do have the players to make an impact in September but if players choose to not give their full 100% buy in to the Club, it will be just another wasted year and a waste of time for those who are committed to the Club.
We still have time, although limited, to change our ways and it starts this week at training as we prepare for the Eagles at Narrabri.
