The Inverell Saints have registered their third straight win for the year after eclipsing the Moree Suns 18.26-134 to 10.10.70.
Missing their captain Sam Kimmince, Justin Pay, Luke Selig, Beau Coles & Darren Pithers, the undermanned Saints started sluggishly against a Moree side that looked dangerous early, booting the opening goal of the game.
The Saints struggled to gain momentum before Josh McPhee, making his debut for the Saints, marked strongly and kicked his first for the afternoon.
The visitors started to gain the ascendancy in the second term with Mike Gould looming dangerous up forward & Keiran Te Velde marking everything that he contested. The only thing Te Velde will need to concentrate on is his kicking for goal, which at the moment is woeful.
The Suns continued to push the Saints during the second half, but it the end, the visitors had a little more polish around the ground and were able to run away with a confortable win.
The Competition takes a break this weekend for the Anzac day long weekend before heating up the week after with the Saints hosting the Narrabri Eagles at Varley Oval on Saturday 30th April.
Goal Kickers: Mike Gould 6, Josh McPhee 4, Toby Tollis, Damon Harrison 2, Matt King, Troy Hill, Jake Cannon, Gerry 'No Nudie Run for Me' Taveira 1
