The Saints and Swans were both below full strength for the game but that didn't stop the Saints from completely out playing the Swans and leading them at every break. Saints forwards Dave Kent and Stew Walker kicked 5 goals and 4 goals respectively as the Saints ran riot to lead by 98 points by half time. The club is gearing up for its final home and away home game before the finals with a visit from the in-form Roos at Varley Oval this Saturday. The game will be preceded by a ladies game at 1pm to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. The local day is part of a national weekend of fundraising by the AFL including a big game in Sydney on Saturday night between The Sydney Swans and St Kilda. Saints publicity officer Pete Diskon says the finishing touches are being put on the saint's fundraiser day and details will be released later in the week.
