The selectors and coaching staff went for a mix of youth and experience and although the TAFL were beaten they put in a tremendous effort. Richard Crafter and James Russ from the Cats, and Daniel Flint from the Roos, lead the way. The TAFL were well behind at half time but managed to hold the Summerland almost scoreless in the second half whist the TAFL put on 6 second half goals to fall just 2 points short at full time. Alex Dasey and Alex Walker were good in the second half as was Fraser Hughes off the bench. TAFL coach Dick Gleeson says the TAFL team put in a tremendous second half with in-experience costing the team the game. It was an opportunity for the TAFL to give some of its rising stars experience at representative football. Mr. Gleeson says the league can be proud of its team which has a great future at the representative level.
It is understood that the TAFL is likely to host the carnival again in 2008 with approaches already being made to other leagues to find a replacement for North Coast.
The league would like to thank all those who volunteered their time to make this happen.
