The Saints will be looking to keep their un-beaten record in tact when they face off against the Swans who are re-building after last year's premiership win. The two clubs have built up some rivalry over the past couple of seasons with close finishes being a regular feature between these two teams. The Saints will have a couple of their big guns returning from injury and on paper should be favourites to win but an upset wouldn't be surprising.
In the other matches this weekend The Nomads will be looking to stamp their authority on the competition when they take on the struggling Narrabri Eagles in Armidale. The Nomads should be too strong for the Eagles who haven't travelled well this season.
The third game promises to be an interesting and close encounter when the re-building Tamworth Roos take on the improving Gunnedah Bulldogs at Tamworth's number one oval. Although the Bulldogs have run hot and cold this season, if they take their full squad to Tamworth will provide the Roos with some anxious moments. An upset here is on the cards but the home ground advantage should be enough to get the improving Roos home.
The Cats have the bye and all eyes will be on them next week when they start the second half of their season without star full forward Ryan McEvoy who has apparently left the club to play in Victoria.
