Both teams are coming off wins last week. The Nomads struggled to overcome a gallant Tamworth Kangaroos at home whilst The Cats had a big win over the improving Gunnedah Bulldogs. Both The Cats and Nomads have enjoyed strong starts to the season with the Cats big guns Ryan McEvoy and Adam White dominating last weeks game with McEvoy kicking 13 goals and White 6. McAdam too put in a good performance with 2 goals. The Nomads defence will need to be at it's best to hold these three forwards and the Cats mid-field have been in good form. This will be a test for The Nomads whose early season form has faltered in the last couple of rounds. The Cats should have too many guns in front of goal at home and should come away with a comfortable win.
The local derby in Tamworth between the Roos and The swans should give both teams a good indication of how far their re-building has come in 2007. The Swans had a big win last week against the Narrabri Eagles whilst the Roos pushed the Nomads all the way in Armidale. This will be a close and willing game with both sides keen to stamp their authority on the competition. The Swans will be confident after last weekends win whilst the Roos have shown against the top sides in the Competition that they aren't far off being a more than competitive unit. I'm tipping a close match which could go either way but The Roos should get away with it.
The final game sees the high flying Inverell Saints heading to Narrabri to take on the eagles. The Eagles have struggled away from home but are a different proposition on their home ground. On form this season The Saints should have too much class for the Eagles it is a danger game for the club and The Saints wont want to turn up thinking they are in for an easy day out against The Eagles who will be keen to register their second home win for the year and are capable of springing an upset. I'm tipping The Inverell Saints to win and retain their place at the top of the competition table.
