The Muswellbrook Cats travel to Varley Oval this afternoon in a bid to inflict the Saints first loss of the season but they will face a team keen to remain focused on the job at hand.
The Saints have had very good contributions across the ground in the opening 4 games with the likes of Jono Elphick, Pete Dunlop, Joe Kimmince, Gary Hadland and Tony Halloran providing a constant drive into the forward line.
Captain Jason Gobbert continues to dominate the ruck while Stewart Walker, Alex Walker (no relation), Mick Viney and Dave Kent have been very dangerous up forward.
Our unsung players Mat Harrison, Shaun Mansbridge, Chris Whitton and Bruce Wall have also done their bit towards the success of the side. Their physical attack on the ball sets the example for teammates to follow.
A good trend at the moment for the Saints is that they don't rely on just one player to kick goals. In recent weeks there's been 7 to 9 players kicking majors which has to be a worry for opposing teams.
But nevertheless, The Cats will be a tough opponent and are brimming with confidence after belting the Kangaroos by 92 points last week.
For the Saints to win today, they must continue their good discipline and physical attack on the football. Both teams play a similar physical game so be prepared for a fiery contest.
Prediction: Saints by 17 points
Don't forget we'll have our Little Saints showing their skills at half time. Parents are asked to have their kids ready to run onto the ground at the main break in today's big game.
After today's game, you're invited to the Imperial Hotel for post match refreshments and the presentation of the game day awards.
