Led by debutant Ryan Woolley with five goals, the Saints recorded a workman like 18.15.123 to 10.10 70 win over the much improved Eagles.
The visitors jumped the Saints early, booting the first two goals of the game before Woolley led the comeback, kicking his first from the boundary line.
Both teams shared the honours in the first quarter with the Eagles holding a slender four point lead at the first break.
A six goal to nil second term set up the Saints 34 point lead at the main break with Woolley proving a much needed focal point up forward.
Chris Whitton came to the fore in the third term kicking three of his four goals in the quarter as the Saints went to the last change up by 56 points.
To their credit, the Eagles never gave up and actually won the last quarter but the result was beyond doubt as the home side went on to record a 53 point win.
The Saints will prepare for a roadtrip to Tamworth on Saturday and a meeting with the Swans at No1 Oval
