An inaccurate Inverell Saints outfit have easily accounted for the Gunnedah Bulldogs at Varley Oval on Saturday, winning 19.28.142 to 6.5.41.
Three goals from Scott Fermor, Toby Tollis and Chris Whitton led the way for the home side, but their inaccuracy in front of goals continues to be a concern.
Kicking 4.8 in the first quarter, 4.9 in the third term and 4.6 in the last quarter paints the picture of the Saints dominance in the game but also highlights the poor return from shots at goal.
The second quarter showed the Saints at it's best when they booted seven goals to put the result beyond doubt.
Jono Elphick continued to show his value with a dominant sweeping role in the backline while Hayden Chappel displayed his skill around the ground.
The backline held up well with Nick Reid, veteren Matt Harrison and Pete Dunlop beating their opponents well and setting up a number of forward attacks .
The only injury concern from the game was speedster Keiran Te Velde who sustained a hamsting injury and is likely to miss this weeks game in Tamworth against the Swans
With the Nomads dropping their game in Armidale against the Tamworth Kangaroos, the minor premierships hopes of the Saints continues to have a heartbeat, but it is imperative for all Saints players to make an effort to push the bar higher over the next few weeks, and ensure they're well prepared to make an onslaught in the remaining games.
