The second quarter saw Johno Kennedy on fire running out of the back line at every opportunity to drive The saints into the forward line, were Nick Baird converted twice to outscore the Cats by 9 points for the quarter.

In the third quarter the Cats came out hard and committed and were unstoppable. They out scored the Saints by 32 points, kicking 6 goals 2 behinds to the saints 6 behinds.

The Cats started the last quarter leading by 15 points and after kicking the first goal looked the goods. However the Saints drug deep and narrowed the margin to just one point on the back of one goal apiece Dave Kent, Nick Baird and Mick Viney. But then the Cats steadied with a couple of goals making hard for the Saints to continue their recent winning streak. The Saints allowed some cheap easy goals to the Cats at the end of the game to let the margin blow out to 29 points at the end of the game.
