The Saints began well with Mick Viney and Scott Wilson providing focal points up forward while Shaun Mansbridge, Luke Selig, Chris Whitton, Brendan Anderson and Dave Kent provided the impetus for each forward attack.
Once again, the talents of South Australian recruit Ashley Braun were again on show. He contested and marked everything that came towards him and was certainly one of the great highlights of the afternoon.
The Saints were well served in the ruck with Johno Elphick getting the ball down to the Saints crumbers for first use of the ball out of the centre. Elphick also became a target with his improved marking skills coming to the fore.
The Saints led at the main break by 26 points but came out a little shaky in the 3rd term, allowing the Bulldogs to kick the opening two goals of the quarter before steadying and capitalizing on the Saints free running style of game.
There was no lying down by the Saints in the last quarter, booting 7 goals to finish the victors by 55 points

This Saturday, the Inverell Saints meet last year's premiers the Muswellbrook Cats at Varley Oval.
This will be the last chance to see our South Australian star Ashley Braun in Saints colors before he heads home.
He has been an inspiring, team leader for everyone at the club and wish him well in his future endeavours
