Seniors coach Dick Gleeson says there is a commitment from the clubs senior players to build on last year's success. The club played in the Tamworth AFL semi-finals in only its first year in the competition and has retained most of the senior side that performed with distinction in 2005. Last year's club captain, Hugh Stone, and young gun Alex Walker have moved on, however the club has signed three players with AFL experience from Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga and Hobart.
The club will train again this Sunday at 11am with the first game of the season on April 8th in Gunnedah as part of the inaugural pre-season challenge. Prize money and a trophy are up for grabs for the winner. The Challenge will commence at 8.30am at Wollesley Oval, Gunnedah.
