The Inverell Saints will travel to Tamworth for the last home and away match for 2010 to take on the Muswellbrook Cats. The match is a chance for the Saints to get back on the paddock before the finals after a few rain interrupted weekends. The match has little consequence for the TAFL ladder as the Saints are assured top spot and a home Major Semi, whilst the Cats are looking to register their first win in 2010.
The Saints will hope to welcome back Fraser Hughes, Dick Gleeson and Dave Vidovic this weekend from the side that defeated Gunnedah a fortnight ago. All three have trained strongly this week and are a good chance of getting back onto the paddock. The Saints will lose Jason Gobbert for the clash who is away.
The match will be followed by the annual TAFL Presentation Night, where Mick Viney is an odds on favourite to reclaim the Gerry Griffiths Medal, currently holding a lead of over 20 goals from his nearest rival on the ladder with just this weekends games to be played. Other Saints that may be in the running for the Best and Fairest count include Corey Wheeler, Jono Elphick and Joe Kimmince.
