The Inverell Saints will make the trip across the range to take on the improving Narrabri Eagles this weekend. The match looms as a danger match for the Saints who have put together a couple of good wins before having their second bye of the year last week. The Eagles seem to be in supreme form making the tough trip to Muswellbrook last week and coming away with the 4 points. That is not an easy task and they will take confidence from that effort.
The Saints have come off two good wins over the teams placed 3rd and 4th on the ladder in the previous two weeks which included a convincing win over the Swans at home last start. The team have had a week off to rest any niggling injuries and will be close to full strength for the match. Both Jason Gobbert and Luke Selig will spend some time on the sidelines with injury and with the imminent departure to our resident globetrotter Jack Lawton, the Saints fringe players have a chance to push their claims for first team selection.
The last time these teams met saw a Saints win but that match has little bearing on the clash this weekend, as the Eagles have the advantage of more games under their belt and always play the small surroundings of their home ground very well. It will certainly be a tough match for the Saints and no doubt a very competitive game faces them on Saturday.
