Round 6 of the CETAFL sees the Saintas making their shortest road trip to Armidale to take on the Nomads. Coming off their first loss of the season, the boys from Inverell are keen to get back into the winners circle but this is a match that always seems to be a tough encounter.
The Nomads enter the match on the back of 3 straight wins after a Round 1 drubbing and are one of the form teams of the competition. They showed impressive form in the preseason Tablelands Cup and always have plenty of young runners on the wide expanses of Bellvue Oval. If the Saints are going to be in with a chance, they must find a way of shutting down the run of the Nomads and bring the contest in tight and through the middle.
The Saints will hope to welcome back a few players this weekend, but will lose the services of Jono Elphick this weekend. Elphick has been in supreme form this year and is probably leading the Best and Fairest count for the club to this point. The Saints will also most likely lose KJ Te Velde to a foot injury sustained on Saturday night. Both these players will be big outs meaning the players around them will need to lift this weekend if the 4 points are going to come back to Inverell.
All the action will start a 2 bells and here's hoping for a beautiful autumn day in Armidale this Saturday.
