The function at The Imperial Hotel was the culmination of a season that saw the seniors play their first Preliminary Final and the Under 16's secure the club's first Premiership. The seniors' runner up was Jonathon Elphick and the club person of the year was awarded to Scott Wilson. Saints coach, Dick Gleeson, was named player of the finals.
The under 16's Premiership year resulted in Joe Kimmince winning the 16's Best and Fairest (The Seaton Tollis Memorial trophy).
Saints president Gerry Taveira paid tribute to the club's committee and match day volunteers for putting in tireless hours to help the club to its most successful season. Mr. Taveira also paid tribute to the club's sponsors for their tremendous support in 2006 and the local media, in particular The Inverell Times and Radio 2NZ, for their ongoing support of the club. The club is expecting to retain most of the senior side from this year plus a number of the Premiership-winning under 16's are expected to step up.
The Saints will continue to work hard during the off-season to ensure the club's continued growth in 2007.
