In what has been the best year for recruitment since returning to the TAFL, the Gunnedah Club has been fortunate to pick up a number of quality players from other Leagues.
Josh Edwards comes from Sawtell, North Coast Premiers in 2008. Josh was also a member of the North Coast Rep team in Wagga last year.
Chris Hayden and Stuart McVittie have come to Gunnedah High School. Both have footy backgrounds. Chris and Stu both played on the Central Coast.
Paul Brown comes from the Shepparton area in Victoria. Browny is sure to add more run through the middle and half forward line.
Troy Garling has been out of footy for a while but early signs indicate that he'll be a valuable aquisition. Troy comes from Darwin and isn't looking forward to the cold Armidale climate come July!!!
Josh Hack has returned to Gunnedah after completing studies in Wagga. Josh played with Rivcol in the strong Farrer League. His dash, enthusiasm and experience will be appreciated.
Sam Naismith joins the ranks. Sam, at almost 1.9m tall, will be joined in the ruck by Mick 'String' Stevenson who has returned to play in 2009.
On the down side, the Club is losing Luke Selig. Luke and partner, Terri-Lee, are moving to Wagga. The Club wishes them both luck in their move.
