Volunteer
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our basketball community, and their selfless contributions make the sport flourish at every level.
Why Volunteer
Most Community sport organisations operate as not-for-profit organisation which relies heavily on the generosity of volunteers to be able to deliver a full range of basketball activities.
Being a volunteer means you get involved in a great family environment while helping to deliver the sport of basketball to the Community.
How can I volunteer ?
Each of our teams needs a team manager and at least one coach to ensure the players perform to the best of their ability.
The team manager’s role is one of the most straight-forward volunteering roles and provides a good introduction to the club for those with a limited background knowledge of basketball.
Duties
The position’s main focus is communications. The team manager is the link between the club and the players and provides support to the coach.
To be a team manager you need a reliable email address and to check that address at least once a day during the basketball season.
It is your job to contact the team members, their families and the coach about fixture changes and any relevant club or association news, as well as to prepare a parent roster for scoring and collecting weekly game fees.
Players and their families are to advise the team manager of any planned player absences or injuries.
Team managers receive support from our Coaching Coordinator - palmertonbasketball@outlook.com
Each team manager is provided with detailed instructions at the start of each season to assist them in their work.
