PLAYING UNIFORM

All players will be supplied with a playing singlet that is the property of the Celtics Basketball Club and is to be returned to the club at the end of each season.  If the top is lost or damaged, you will need to reimburse the club for the cost for replacing it. All players need to supply their own, plain black basketball shorts. These shorts must not have stripes, pockets or zips on them and running shorts are not permitted. Such shorts are available at places like Kmart for around $10. Please also ensure your child wears white soled shoes. 

TEAM LISTS

Prior to the first game of the season you will receive an email with a link to the Celtics Basketball Club website notifying you where the teams can be viewed.

TRAINING

Your coach will let your team know when and where training will occur. Players need to bring their own basketball and drink bottle to all training sessions. It is compulsory for all players to attend training during the summer season.

GAME NIGHT

Playing fees are to be paid on the night at the stadium. It is $7 per player for juniors with U10s being $5 per match. An EFTPOS facility is available for payment.  When given a ticket upon payment, write the players name & number on the back and place in the bag attached to the scoring sheet located on the nearby table.  A player that does not have a ticket in the bag BY HALF TIME is not permitted to play the rest of the game if directed by the umpire.  Therefore please ensure you do this prior to playing.  Please also bring a drink bottle.

No jewelry is to be worn on court.

We encourage equal court time for all players where possible and subs should be made close to the 5 minute interval mark of each half (15 mins, 10 mins and 5 mins). The coach is the only person who can talk to the referees during the game.  At the end of the game both teams come together in a circle and offer 3 cheers for the opposition and 1 cheer for the referees.

SCORING

All parents are required to take their turn at scoring.  This will only be 2-3 times per season if everyone takes their turn.  If you don’t know how to score, please sit with a parent who does for a game.  Both teams are required to supply scorers. Your help in sharing the load would be greatly appreciated by the other parents. 

COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS

Every team will be allocated a coach and most will have a team manager. Any concerns and questions can be directed to the coach or team manager who, if unable to help you, will contact the committee on your behalf.
