A real focus of the off season has been to maintain our key players with a view of building on what we achieved in 2010. The drafting of Peter Faulks to Fremantle was a great result and we firmly believe he is capable of stepping up and playing consistent AFL footy from the start of the 2011 season.

Head Trainer Sophia Samartzis advised the Club 2 weeks ago that she regrettably had to resign from the role she has held for the last 2 years. Sophia who completed a university placement with Geelong Football Club in 2010 will next year commence her Honours which will demand a greater involvement with the Geelong Football Club and probably lead to her living in the Geelong area. On behalf of everyone at the Williamstown Football Club we would like to thank Sophia for her outstanding contribution to our Club and we look forward to her return in the future.
The Williamstown Football Club would like to advise that Luke Boyd has been offered, and accepted a role with the Hawthorn Football Club. Luke has been a fantastic servant to the Williamstown Football Club and we sincerely thank him for his involvement with the Williamstown Football Club over the past three years. Luke’s professionalism, passion and always positive outlook has seen him become a very popular figure around the club and we wish him all the best for this new role.
Williamstown Football Club stalwarts Ronny 'Handbone' Johnson and Ronny 'The Count' Williams have scaled back their involvement as Property Stewards for the 2011 season. Both men are legends at the Williamstown Football Club and were finding the constant grind of 3 nights a week and match days a bit too much at their 'tender age.' The 2 Ronnys were very popular with the coaching and playing staff and we certainly hope that they can still get down to the odd training session and match days. Many thanks to David Utber who stepped up to assist the boys in the latter part of the 2010 season.

The Williamstown Football Club would like to thank Development and Senior Forward Line coach Adam Potter for his work with the club over the last twelve months. Adam has accepted a position with the Coburg Football Club for the next two seasons as Senior Coach. While we are disappointed to see Adam leave us we are pleased for the incredible opportunity that Adam has received and look forward to Adam coaching against Peter German in Williamstown v Coburg matches.
Williamstown key defender Peter Faulks has been drafted to the Fremantle Football Club. Under new rules involved the Gold Coast FC, Peter was pre-selected by the Gold Coast who then on traded him (and pick 61) to Fremantle in exchange for pick 55. Peter will now line up for the Dockers in season 2011 after an outstanding VFL season for the Seagulls in season 2010. Faulks is currently over in Bali on the player's end of season trip, and was ecstatic about the opportunity to ply his trade at the highest level.
