The Sandringham Football Club would like to congratulate Shane Valenti and Nick Sautner on winning the Fothergill-Round and Jim `Frosty' Miller medals respectively.
Both players have been integral to Sandringham's success so far in 2007. Valenti has continued his rise through the VFL ranks after his sensational debut season and will no doubt come into reckoning for a spot on an AFL list. Equipped with speed, skill and a high work rate, Valenti has proven to be a vital cog in the mighty Zebra midfield. At just 20 years of age and already with a premiership and state honours to his name, Shane is poised for bigger & better things in 2008.
Nick Sautner has continued to break records in 2007. A five-time Premiership player and a three-time Victorian representative, Nick booted 59 goals from 17 home and away matches to win his record-breaking seventh Jim `Frosty' Miller Medal. In doing so Nick climbed to tenth on the all-time VFL goal kicking list with 675 goals, surpassing greats Ron Todd and Jamie Shaw. At the end of the 2007 home and away season Nick's career statistics stand at 210 games and 675 goals at an average of 3.2 goals per game. Let's hope Nick's sharp kicking can continue throughout the finals.
Congratulations to both players and go the mighty Zebs!
