The History behind Southern Storm begins with Kermandie 'Robins' Juniors and Cygnet 'Port Power' Mini league coming together to have a youth league where they would have enough players to be competitive and be able to play in there age brackets.
Both sides where struggling and by joining forces has produced some very competitive teams.
The junior bodies worked together to name and start theSouthern Storm which has now grown to take over looking after the junior teams which are now Cygnet Storm and Kermandie Storm for ease of transition and comittee's.

Kermandie Football Club 'Robins' was founded in 1887 and the Senior body started playing in the SFL in 1998 and stopped playing in March 2010 after winning

Cygnet 'Port Power' still has a Senior side which has been battling, but 2016 is looking like a good year, with new players coming back into the teams and new rooms being built at their home site.
Cygnet began as Lovett Football Club in 1906, and changed its name to Cygnet in the 1910s.
The Magpies were a member of the Huon Football Association from 1906-1997 when the league disbanded and they joined the SFL in 1998.
Upon entry in the SFL they changed from their longtime Black & White playing strip and Magpie emblem, adopting a Port Adelaide playing strip and called themselves 'The Port'.
