Glenn Humphrey
Senior Coach 2014-15
|
Glenn gew up and learnt his football in South Gippsland of Victoria. Glenn started his career at Loch, then went to Garfield and where he played as an 18 yo half forward flanker in Garfield’s West Gippsland senior premiership.
He then spent 3 years in the NT before returning to the Gippsland to link up with his original club Loch, However Loch’s population had reduced and the club was forced into recess in the early 1990’s, so he then joined Leongatha in the powerful Latrobe Valley League before joining Korumburra in the WGFL. Then headed back to NT and finished his career with a Reserves premiership at 38 yo with Nightcliff in the NTAFL. He then coached Nightcliiff Reserves to another premiership before taking on Assistant Coach roles at Nightcliff and then St Marys in the early 2000s.
When the NT Thunder joined AFLQ and then the newly created NEAFL he was appointed the forward coach for 3 years before relocating to Brisbane in 2013 as Business Development Manager for Plan Australia, an aggregation company for mortgage brokers and subsidiary of the NAB.
Glenn is excited by the challenges of the Western Magpies joining the new QAFL Premier League and promises to bring a strong work ethic to the club with a positive modern AFL game strategy to make the club a powerhouse in the QAFL.

Brydan Morgan
Senior Assistant Coach 2015

My football background is vast and varied with over 10 years experience within various levels of senior football. As a player I have been directly involved in many successful teams across various levels of football. Most of my experience stems from country Victoria and to a lesser time the SANFL with the West Adelaide Football Club (2006). I was fortunate enough to captain the Romsey Football Club (RDFL) from the age of 22 to 25 and also a playing assistant coach (2005). These experiences have helped shape my leadership skills and my desire to become a successful coach in the future.
I have been very fortunate to have been coached by some great motivators and football minds. Some of which are Wayne Weiderman – West Adelaide SANFL 2006 , Andrew Collins – Box Hill Hawks VFL 2004 and Mick Mcguane- Gisborne Bendigo Football League, 2002.
As a player I was driven to be the best I could be individually, this has led me to be a constant “student of the game” and my time under these coaches as well as some lesser known coaches has been paramount in shaping my thoughts, beliefs and ideals about how the game should be played and what is required to be a successful individual, team and club.
In 2009 at 27 I retired from Football, due to ongoing injuries and a decision to focus on my long term career.
Apart from my interest in football I am an Aviation Fire-fighter (since 2009) and prior to that a Physical Education Teacher (Secondary School 2003-2009).
I’m very excited about the challenges that lay ahead at the Western Magpies Football Club in 2015 and look forward to playing my role in achieving our best in 2015 and beyond.
