ROUND 6
Round six has been run and won by both the senior and reserve Maroochy Roo's outfits.
After a very sluggish start the Maroochy Reserves finally hit thier straps in the second holding Noosa scoreless for the term. Callum Lowe, Scott Hay and Ryan Vincent were well on top for the quarter enabling the Roos to go into half time with a four point lead. Chris Abraham and Ben Burns got the midfield on top in the third and it was much the same scorewise with Noosa only managing to score an ordinary 2 points to the Roos 4 goals 1. The game finally opened up in the last but Noosa could not close the gap with both teams posting 5 goals. Maroochy Roos 27 point victors.
After two 100 point plus thrashings at the hands of Noosa last year the Roos Senior outfit were keen to proove that 2009 was going to be different, but fell victim to a sluggish first term like the reserves. After what could only be described as a light spray from coach Peter Somerville at the break, it was one way traffic from then on in. Peter Hay kept the alway dangerous Mat Hicks to just three goals, Shaun Fletcher dominated the ruck and gave on ball champions Ben Matthews and Ryan white first use all day. Out on the wing, Harry Wilson always had space, while Cam Taylor and James Page added 4 and 4 goals respectively to thier season totals
This week the Roos are at home again against Coolangatta. Games at 12 and 2.
