Round 14 vs Pomona
We came away from this free flowing game with a close but solid win against Pomona our first win since round 8. It started well in the first half with our backs and midfield able to defend and rebound the ball from the Pomona forward entries. Again our tackling was near perfect which made it incredibly hard for Pomona to get any type of run happening. Jago lead the way with tackles earning several free kicks. In the midfield Jakob played a great game in ruck and with Josh and jack supporting him we controlled the contested possessions. By half time we had taken a comfortable but hard fought 2 goal lead. In the second half Kian went to full back and was an absolute rock taking 5 or 6 marks on the goal line as Pomona improved their game and really pushed hard. Kayden really started taking the game on with some blistering runs through the mid field and our other defenders Zach Lamarca and Josh ably moved the ball out of defence. Drew went to Full forward and worked really hard with Sam and Harry Kennedy. Callan, Ellis and Lara held the middle of the ground well to make it hard for Pomona to work it to their forward line. In the end we continued to score and Pomona kicked a late goal to give them a chance but we held strong and got over the line.
