Glenn Braybon moved to Marcoola in March this year and quickly became the "quiet achiever" of our Reserves defensive unit with strong defence being complimented with offensive rebounding dashes as well.
Braybs grew up in the Murray area of NSW in the town of Finley. We wouldnt say that Braybs is old but when he started playing AFL it was in the Vickick program (that was pre Auskick kids).
Glenn came up through the juniors and won the Cats Under 17 Best & Fairest before graduating into Senior football unfortunately during a very low point in this great country club's history. Two or three wins in his 98 game has led to his defensive skills being well tested and fortunately his time with Noosa has been far more productive.
Glenn has only been on the Sunny Coast since March 09 after following his girlfriend Carrissa (a hair dresser) who set up camp a month earlier. Braybs is a carpenter and after some subby work when he first arrived secured a stable full time job down at Kunda Park. Like many, Glenn and Carrissa headed North for the experience and the warmth and while work is good they plan to stick around. Braybs certainly isnt complaining about playing a Northern footy season compared to down South.
A Geelong supporter (Finley Cats wear the same uniform) Braybs is looking forward to catching a match at the Gabba after learning what most of us know about Carrara when he watched Richmond V The Crows on a cold night there a few weeks ago.
Some clubs are full of flashy players and yes every club needs some of them, but we all also love those steady reliable types that can do a job at either end of the ground and will always be there for their mates. Glenn Braybon is certainly one of these and we hope he plays 98 games+ at Tigerland.
