A disappointing performance overall resulted in a big loss for the Swans for the second time against the Byron Bay Magpies. The first half looked promising however poor disposal cost the Swans dearly as they struggled to hit a target on the half forward line. The 28 point margin did not reflect how hard the boys fought in the first half.
The second half was very ordinary as woeful disposal continued which resulted in the boys dropping there heads and allowing Byron to run riot. A disappointing performance overall with very few winners on the day.
The Swans have now been set a pathway in the finals and will take on Nimbin at Ballina’s Fripp Oval next week in the second semi final. A big performance is a must. Finals footy is a complete different ball game and if the boys all get to training and play the way they have trained in past week then I am certain that the Swans will be competitive and a force in the finals. The home and away season is all over and all of the hard work throughout the season will now be put to the test. Its now a matter of how much do we want it boys!!!
Best players on the day were Angus Legoe, Eddie Burton, Mitch Grivins, Dylan Brooks, Luke Henschke and Mitch Montgomery.
Goal kickers, singles to Dylan Brooks, Jake Ryan, Richard Blundell, and Eddie Burton.
