Round 4 Match Reports
Division 2
Mac Uni 25.16.166 beat Camden Cats 1.4.10
The Warriors took on Camden in what was our 3rd straight away game and what we considered a dangerous side considering they have been within 1 goal of both opponents at 3/4 time thus far this year. Thursday nights training prior was a great example of "train the way that you play" and the boys did just that.
Despite missing our CHB, CHF & FF from the previous week our aim was to start well with scoreboard pressure and try and take control of the game early. The side played some great footy early on with Dean Connors winning numerous possessions from Troy McMurrich in the middle who rucked all and found himself in the best players again.
As a result of the good clean ball from the middle Brett Harland continued on his goal kicking spree with another 8 goals before sitting out the last quarter and the smart leading Craig Barnes kicked another 3 goals before also sitting out the last quarter to ensure both were ready for Manly next week.
Brodie Cooper continued to improve in leaps and bounds with some fantastic contested possessions both in the air and on the ground off the HBF. Sam Millard and Justin Whyte contributed 3 goals apiece and showed the side is not relying solely on one person to kick goals.
Jerome Farrell bounced back to form with strong leads from CHF and winning a heap of contested possessions in the 2nd half which helped him kick 3 goals for the day.
On baller Ben Akmens played his best game for the club with his physical & robust style working perfectly with our fleet footed on ballers and wingmen.
The Warriors now look forward to the return of a number of senior players to First Grade next week against Manly at home whilst a few more coming back from injury or holiday travel will play Reserve Grade. The First Grade Squad is building nicely coming into a tough 3 weeks against strong clubs such as Manly, UTS and Southern Power.

Division 4
Mac Uni 4.7.31 beat Camden Cats 22.12.144
The Warriors took on Camden in round four in what was to be a fiercely contested match right from the start.
The first quarter started slowly with neither team really getting on top. The Macquarie bandwagon did not take too long to start rolling however, as Stumpy slotted his first goal for the afternoon. With the midfield up and about, the boys then found their feet and put through 3 more goals to go into quarter time with a handy break.
The second quarter saw the boys pick where they left off in the first, exploding out of the blocks to put through 5 quick goals. Andy was the main destroyer with 3 in a patch of about 5 minutes as the Warriors started to show their dominance on the scoreboard. The Camden side started to lift midway through the quarter however, and the scoring dried up although we still went into the sheds with a 7 goal lead.
The third quarter saw things really come together, and with Willy and Tommy giving our midfielders first use, the Camden backline was always under pressure. Jacko and Nipper provided some excellent delivery into the forward line where Rusty and Stumpy were a constant threat. As has been the case in all games this season, our backline has been a real strength as well, and Mick was doing a great job marshalling the troops, with Timmy and Julz also showing poise under pressure.
The last quarter was where we hammered things home. By this stage Camden were starting to tire and our relentless pressure and toughness at the ball showed through. Stumpy put through another four goals for the quarter to finish with ten for the game and the rest of the forward line complemented him beautifully with some great goal assists. By full time the Warriors had racked up another impressive win, this time finishing 113 points to the good.
