Head Coach Gareth Bull has managed to bring one of Sydney football's most experienced players in Don Ollington from Macquarie University.
Most who have played in the Divisions 1 & 2 over the last 13 years would have seen Donny in action. Donny was an integral part of Mac Uni's three-peat in 98,99,00, captain in 1999, as well as the Warriors surprise flag in Div 2 in 2009, and his CV reads an impressive playing career, with over 200 Senior games for the KookaRriors, after running around with the Kingston Tigers in the Huon FL and later Southern Tasmanian FL.
He also played rep footy for the SFA in 98 and 2001, and was deservedly named in the Mac Uni teams of the decades in the 90s, and captain of 2000s.
Bully is pleased to have Donny as his co-coach for 2011, and Donny will slot into the backline with ease, having played a key part in Mac Uni's incredible run through to Division 2 glory in 2009, and their finals appearance in Div 1 last year. Donny's talk and enthusiasm on the track has spread like wildfire among the players at training, particularly the new and younger players, all of whom will glean some wisdom from the ol......experienced campaigner.
The Jets take on Gosford Tigers @ Monarch Oval this Saturday 19th March (With many thanks to Campbelltown FC for their accommodating help) and meet bitter rivals, Penriff the following week on their turf, before meeting with Sydney Uni in Div 2 and UNSW/ES in Div 4, as the Jets seek to go one better in Div 2 in 2011.
