After burning up the track since November, the Jets will test themselves aginst some of Sydney AFL's best clubs when they take to the field in the modified 9-a-side game.
The Jets will field two teams and will test their mettle against the likes of Premier Division outfits Sydney Uni & Balmain, coached by former Jets head coach Garfield Bull, Div 1 teams Mac uni and the hosts and newly promoted Goannas, 3 x teams from the ever expanding Maroubra Saints, including former Jet and multiple Most Improved winner Don 'Duck' Waterston, the new entity Blacktown Magic, the brains trust from NSW/ACT AFL, the hilariously (and deliciously, if you like chicken) named Zinger Boys, as well as a full womens comp, which promises to be a great watch.
$500 prizemoney is on offer to the winner on the day, and the Jets won't be fazed by the higher level teams, as we all bleed just the same. Each Jet is asked to pay $20 a head for entry fee, and is required to bring white or blue shorts (If possible) sunscreen and some water, although we will have Navy hunk Jesse Meyer and A-Rob on the H20 duties.
Players are required to be at Gipps Road Oval, (directions at bottom of screen) no later than 0930 for registration, so bring some friends along, this is a fun day and a chance to get the pill in your hands before the tough hit outs against Eastlake & Albatross start in mid March.
Goanna Park, Gipps Road Sporting Complex, Gipps Rd, Greystanes.
Take M4 eastbound and get off at the Cumberland Hwy Exit, head south and take right into Merrylands Rd and follow to the end. Turn left at the roundabout onto Gipps Rd, and follow for approx 5 mins. Once you have crossed the Busway, turn right into Goanna Park.
