Sydney AFL’s divisional structure sees Bombers spread far and wide, with our three teams all at different grounds on Saturday.
The Matches
10:00am – Under 18s Premier Cup - Win by forfeit.
1:40pm – Premier Division v Balmain at Drummoyne Oval.
2:10pm – First Division v Manly-Warringah at Pittwater No 6 Oval.
Directions to Away Venues
Drummoyne Oval
Drummoyne Oval, one of Sydney AFL’s most picturesque venues, is on Bayswater St Drummoyne. From the north side, head along River Rd to Burns Bay Rd. Head south down Burns Bay Rd, continuing after the merge with Victoria Rd and over Gladesville Bridge.
After crossing the bridge, turn right at the lights – a 7 Eleven is on the corner. Take the next left at Marlborough St, and then the next right at Tavistock St. The oval will be visible at the end of the street. Turn right into Bayswater St, a one-way street; and the driveway to the oval will soon appear on the left. There is parking available on site or on the street.
Pittwater No 6 Oval
Pittwater No 6 Oval is on Pittwater Rd, North Narrabeen; one of the ovals around the Warringah rugby union stadium.
From Chatswood, follow Boundary St; which becomes Warringah Rd. Keep going through Forestville to Frenchs Forest. Turn left at Wakehurst Parkway. Follow Wakehurst Parkway to the end then turn left into Pittwater Rd. The park is about a kilometre down Pittwater Rd on the right.
If you’re coming from further north, join Mona Vale Rd at Pymble and follow to Mona Vale. Turn right at the end, at Pittwater Rd, and the park is about 2km away on the left.

Our Opponents
Balmain Dockers, who will take on our seniors, haven’t had the greatest of seasons. When the Bombers played them at Gore Hill earlier in the season, the Bombers dominated the first half to win by 108 points. But the Dockers have won a few games this year, and over the last couple of seasons have troubled the Bombers at Drummoyne; so this is not a game to be taken lightly.
The reserves take on Manly at Pittwater. The Wolves senior team has been one of the powerhouse teams in the division; and our reserves will need to be at their best for this one.
The Red And Black Ball – It’s Here
After the Under 18s game is over, Gore Hill Oval will be transformed. A big marquee will be put up, and preparations will be on for the Red And Black Ball. It’s sure to be a big night of Bomber celebration, as we honour the best players to have worn the Bombers’ jumper in the last decade.
If you wish to attend and haven’t RSVP’d yet, drop us a line ASAP at northshorefc@yahoo.com.au to reserve your place.
