Our Opponents
It’s a return game against Illawarra, after our Premier Division side played the Lions at North Dalton Oval last week. The Bombers won convincingly last week, but the Lions will be keen to reverse that result this time round. The battle for finals spots, with both wins and percentage, is extremely tight, so every score could be important in determining how and where North Shore qualifies for finals action.
Call to Arms
AFL leagues will fight back against one of their fiercest opponents this weekend, cancer, when they take part in Cancer Council’s Call To Arms fundraiser.
Call To Arms is one of Cancer Council’s annual fundraising events that offers men's sporting groups of all ages and codes the opportunity to help raise funds and awareness for cancer - a disease that affects one in two Australian men by the age of 85.
Clubs throughout NSW have signed up for the cause and will hold their own Call to Action fundraising activities over the weekend.
The money raised from the raffle on Saturday will go towards Cancer Council’s men’s cancer research, prevention, information and support services.
After the Game
All players, officials and supporters are invited to the clubhouse after the Premier Division game for a short post-match presentation. Hear from our coaches with their thoughts on the day’s games, and the best players in each of our games will be named.
Online Coverage
Score updates will be posted throughout the day on the North Shore website at www.northshorefc.com.au . After the games, scorecards can be viewed by clicking on the Fixtures/Results tab on the website.
North Shore Player Review
After today’s games, we have a great night of entertainment with the North Shore Player Review. The talent and success of our Bomber players on the sporting field is well known, but tonight we find out how talented they are on the stage. It will be at the Gore Hill clubhouse starting at 7:00 tonight. Just $10 will get you entry to this hilarious exhibition of drama, song, dance and much entertainment.
Back to Bears Day
It’s on again, 11 August 2012 is North Shore’s annual Back to Bears Day. Please come along and join us at Gore Hill for lunch at 1pm followed by the Premier Division game at 2pm. It would be great to see all past players and members of North Shore Bears and North Shore Bombers there on the day.
