Congratulations to Will Sierakowski, who will make his AFL debut with North Melbourne this weekend.
Will played for North Shore in 2008, and played a key role as the Bombers made an unlikely late-season charge into the finals. At the time he was on an AFL Scholarship with Hawthorn, and joined the Hawks after the 2008 season.
The Hawks were defending champions, and he was unable to break into the senior list; and was de-listed after a couple of seasons at Hawthorn. But he was thrown a lifeline by North Melbourne, who drafted him onto their list.
It's been a long wait for Sierakowski; named as an emergency about 20 times over the years. But finally his persistence has been rewarded with AFL selection.
