The Under 14’s will need their double chance if they are going to make the Grand Final after they went down by 14 points to Henty on Saturday.
The boys started well with Andrew Phibbs, Jimmy Hanrahan and Ryan Bruce in everything enabling the Power to have a 5 point lead at quarter time. With Cam Wilson, Josh Tidd and Will Johnston giving their all the Power was able to hold their lead of 5 points at half time. But with player make Kane Mills still on the sidelines, Henty started to gain control after half time and they took a 9 point lead into the last change. Henty had all the play in the last quarter but the Power defended well holding them to 7 points but the Swampies were able to book a place in the Grand Final winning 4.11 to 3.3. This Saturday the Power takes on Howlong at 8.45am for a place in the Grand Final.
The Inters season came to an end when they went down in their knockout final. The girls started off great but slowly run out of steam by the end of the game. They all put in a massive effort and never gave up. Awards went to Nikita Bainbridge for her work in the shooting circle and Elise Norman who came on at half time and gave it her all. Congratulations to Brooke Wilson who again won Best on Court. Well done to all the girls for making it this far, we look forward to the 2014 season.
