Last week saw CDHBU play host to Murray Magpies in the final home and away game for Season 2008.
In perfect weather conditions and in front of a large crowd, the Power came away with three wins in the footy and three wins, one draw and two losses in the netball.
Under 14's -

The youngsters started the day off with a win for the Power, thrashing the Magpies by a massive 90 points. Congratulations to Whale and his boys for their terrific year, finishing the season in 3rd position. As usual Kane Barbour was in under everything, Luke Murphy had a fair crack playing for the opposition and Hayden Filliponi played a great game.

Under 17's
CDHBU 5.1.31 def by Murray 10.9.69
The boys started the game off in fine style, leading the Magpies at quarter time, but Murray responded and started to take control of the game, winning by 38 points. To the Powers credit, they never gave in and fought the game out to the end. Matthew Ross was sensational at fullback, his opponent had kicked over 100 goals for the season and Rossy was able to keep him to just two goals, Harri Downing found plenty of the footy in the midfield and Daniel Kipping was terrific in the ruck. Well done to Fitzy and his boys on their season, finishing the year in 8th place and not too far out of the finals race.
Maybe next year boys.

CDHBU 13.11.89 def Murray 5.9.39
The Reserves finished off the home and away season with a pretty easy win over the Magpies. Dave Lethbridge continued his great season with a stellar performance, gathering over 40 possessions.
Kristian Ward put in a mighty game and Paul Phibbs was once again featuring in the best.
Congratulations to Brett St John and his men on finishing the season in 5th position and a crack at the finals.

Seniors -
CDHBU 20.17.137 def Murray 13.5.83
Our Seniors started off slowly in the first quarter, they improved slightly in the second, but still couldn't get a good break from their apponents. After half time, the Power came out looking like a different team and run over the top of the Magpies, winning by 54 points. Jarrod Hanrahan was outstanding in the midfield, Doug Lavis put in a fine performance and Jayme Hicks was superb in the ruck. Well done to Lindsay Seymour and his men on their season, considering the injuries we've had, finishing in 10th position wasn't too bad. Let's hope next year will bring bigger things for the club.

NETBALL
Mods - With Murray having no Mods, all 25 Under 11 girls got together to have a game amongst themselves. It was CDHBU Red winning over CDHBU Black. The two Wilson girls were outstanding, so well done Claire and Brooke.

Congratulations to Simone Hanrahan, Loren Filliponi and their great bunch of girls on their efforts this year, finishing in the top two. Let's hope you can go all the way.

C Reserve - Our C Reserve unfortunately weren't good enough on the day, going down to the Magpies. Penny Reeves once again put in a fine performance in the goals, Ruth Wilson tried hard in the Midcourt, while Carmen Hanrahan was solid in defence. Well done to Holly O'Donoghue and her team for their season, finishing not too far out of the finals race.

C Grade - Our C Grade weren't quite up to the task against the Magpies, they were just too strong. With Stacey Amor on the sideline with a broken collarbone, Nic Matthews went back into GK for half a game and was terrific, while Tess O'Donoghue also had a stint down back and she too was superb in that position. Erin Lavis tried hard all game. Once again Well done to Holly and the C Graders on a great season.

Congratulations to all the B Grade team for their efforts this year.
We ended the season just outside the top six, so not a bad effort for a team with no coach.

A Grade - Wow what a game to end the season for our A Grade, it was one of the best fight backs I have ever seen.
The girls were 11 goals down at three quarter time and fought hard to end the game with a draw. See what happens when you believe in yourselves and your team mates. Congratulations to Tam Bainbridge and her girls on their terrific season, they too only just missing out on a spot in the finals.
