CDHBU have fallen to 5th spot on the ladder after they went down by 13 points to premiership favourites and unbeaten Brock Burrum Saints at Burrumbuttock.
With the ground in muddy and slippery conditions after all the rain, a fast start was needed by the Power but it was the Saints that came out firing. The Power couldn’t get their hands on the ball as the Saints made a mockery of the conditions as they kicked 4 goals 4 before the Power went forward. It took a strong mark by Damien Wilson just before quarter time to get the Power on the board as they trailed 4.4 to 1.0 at quarter time.
The Power limited the damage in the second quarter with the backline of Tim Cooper, Cody Keenes, Michael Collins and Matt Howard holding firm only allowing the Saints 5 points for the quarter. The problem was that the ball spent most of the time in the Saints forward and the Power only scored a point for the quarter to trail by 26 points at half time, 4.9 to 1.1.
Coach Payne asked for a big lift in the second half and Kade Rowe and Damien Wilson lifted to given more ball in the forward line. And with Tom Moloney and Ben Wilson locking down their opponents, the Power was able to kick 3 goals to the Saints one to only trail by 13 points at the last change, 5.9 to 4.2.
Youngster Hayden Fischer was great in his second game with his tackling a feature and after a couple of points by the Saints, the Power through goals to Mat Walker & Josh Lewis reduced the margin to 4 points half way through the last quarter. But the Saints were able to steady and got a goal back as they ran out 6.15 to 6.2 winners.

The Reserves had their third tough game in a row, this time against top of the ladder BB Saints, and in very muddy conditions it was going to be hard slog. Once again it was Sean Hanrahan leading by example along with Jack Wynne and Mark Playford playing great games for the Power. In a low scoring first half saw the Power take a 1 point lead at half time.
In the second it was more of the same with goals hard to get, making the most of their opportunities Brad Lewis 2 Damian Talbot and Sam Haigh both with a goal each. In a the last quarter it was tight contest with both teams having their chances to win, but unfortunately for the Power they went down by 2 points, 4.3.27 to 3.11.29. With the finals only a few weeks away the boys would take lot of confidence from the game.

In muddy and windy conditions for the Under 17’s it was the Saints that got off to fast start in the first quarter kicking 4 goals to 1 goal giving the Saint a handy lead at quarter time. In the second quarter it was a much closer contest with Josh Tidd, Jesse O’Donoghue and Thomas Webb all
making good contests around the ground giving the Power some hope leading into the half time break.
In the second half Andrew Phibbs, Cam Dutton and Joel Hayes all playing well and trying hard to reel in the lead the Saints had, but found it too hard with the Saints running out winners by 31 points, 8.5.53 to 3.4.22.

A cold winter’s day greeted the Power’s Under 14’s as we came up against the BB Saints.
The Power started the match well kicking 4 goals with some good work around the ball and in the ruck contests with Bailey and Tom.
During the second quarter the boys extended the lead by 3 goals and played as a team chipping and handballing with Angas, Paddy, Ethan and Nathan on top of their games.
It was great to see some of the younger boys contribute to the scoring result with Sterling, Jake and Mathew Bush kicking goals in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
The back line held up well keeping the Saints scoreless for the day which enabled the Power to come away with a dominant win.
Well done to the goal kickers, Bailey Minogue 6 goals, Mathew Bush 3 goals, Jayden Collier & Lachlan Dolan 2 goals, Jake Coats & Sterling Letchford 1 goal each.
The Power came away with a convincing win 15.10.100 to BB Saints 0.0.0.
