CDHBU continued its early preseason form with a win over an undermanned Tallangatta league outfit, Dederang Mt Beauty last Saturday at Coreen.
Following on from their 36 point victory over Moyhu the previous week, the Power took the early lead and never relinquished it for the rest of the day. Corey Smith put some goals on the board early whilst Alex Wallis looked strong at CHF. Tim Cooper was solid in the last line of defence and Kade Rowe racked up plenty of possessions through the midfield. The Power held a three goal lead at the first break.
The second quarter seen the Bombers take it right up to the Power as they dominated the bulk of the play. However, they were unable to make any headway into the lead and managed only the solitary goal whilst the Power added three. Josh Lewis began to win his usual tally of possessions whilst Tom Maloney and Ben Wilson began to assert their dominance.
The third quarter saw the Power add another three goals with Coach Payne beginning to hit the scoreboard whilst Kade Rowe and Ben Wilson added goals. Tyson Burden was in everything down back and Matt Ross began to look more at ease in first game back. Former coach Brad Talbot collected many contested possessions.
The last quarter seen the Power rest some stars but the younger brigade continued to show their improvement through players such as Ben Wilson, Tom Maloney, and Tyson Burden. Coach Payne gave much needed game time to the younger boys whilst rotating them through the middle. Corey Smith added some goals to his tally as did Kade Rowe and the Power ended the game with 61 point victory.
The Power would like to thank Marc Almond and his young Dederang Mt Beauty team for the spirited hit out and wish them every success in 2015.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make our first day back at Coreen a success. We acknowledge that it is a long season but ask that as many supporters as possible get down to John Foord Oval and support the boys and girls and to lend a hand. Entry will be free despite the big show of Tick (Kade Rowe) and Tek , Corey Smith (Together they are TicketTek) who people pay for the privilege of watching them.
