CDHBU’s search for a thirds coach is complete after local Coreen farm hand Sean Hanrahan accepted the position. Sean has a wealth of senior experience and has begun training the young thirds group on Monday nights at Morris Park.
The boys have been joining in with the senior group on Wednesday nights. Sean has played over 100 games of senior football for the Power and his passion for the club will transcend through to the boys. The club would like extend its best wishes to Sean for season 2015.
Training for the seniors will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until March when training will revert to Monday and Thursdays with Thursdays out at Coreen.
Practice games will be held on the 13th, 21st and 28th of March. The season launch being held at Coreen on the 21st after the game.
The thirds have a practice match versus Wahgunyah at Coreen on Saturday 14th of March at approximately 11-30 am, depending on cricket commitments. Other games are to be organised soon.
A reminder that the fourths have begun training on Wednesday nights at 4-30 pm at the High School. More players are required and if anyone has a child that is interested in playing please contact Mark Tilders on 0408135241.
On the football front, coach Damien Payne has focused on mixing fitness work with match simulated training. Veteran Luke Cowan has returned in prime physical fitness and will be like a new recruit for the Power after injury robbed him of the final half 2014. Young gun Alex Wallis has been burning up the track whilst Tyson Burdon, Corey Smith and Josh Lewis look fitter and hungrier than ever.
The club has also purchased new football shorts with sponsor, Damien and Amberlee McFarland, having their business logo on the front. All players expected to wear these new shorts in round one and they will soon be available for purchase.
Go Power!
