CDHBU held its annual general meeting at Coreen last Friday night. Incumbent president, Mark Tilders, was returned unopposed for a second year as was vice president Jarrod Hanrahan. However, after thirty years as secretary Chris Collins has stepped aside. Louise Clohessy was elected unopposed to fill the secretary’s role.
Louise is employed as deputy nurse manager at Corowa Hospital and has acted as nurse manager for a considerable period of time. Louise has also recently completed a diploma in management and, with her occupational and post graduate experience and qualifications, will be more than competent in the role so effectively operated by ‘Darkie.’
The club would like to thank Darkie for his efforts in not just his secretarial role but his efforts in conducting the 100 club, goal umpiring, bus driving and organising the match day roles on a Saturday. We trust he enjoys his time watching the football without such a heavy work load.
Chris Scott was also added to the committee, replacing Peter Rippingale. ‘Fog’ worked tirelessly as the sponsor co-ordinator and will be sorely missed. ‘Scotty’ is a life member of the club and still continues the work that qualified him for that honour.
The committee now stands as Mark Tilders (President), Jarrod Hanrahan (Vice President), Doug Lavis (Junior Vice President), Ian Playford (Treasurer), Louise Clohessy (Secretary), Ian Bock, Chris Scott, Dean Fitzgerald, Paul Phibbs, Denis Tomlinson and Mark Hanrahan (general committee).
November 9th at 12 pm the thirds will be having a meet the coach day at the rower’s park with new coach Michael Kreun. All family and friends of the thirds are welcome to attend.
The club is expected to announce some key signings within the next couple of weeks. A bowls day will be held to welcome all the new and returning players to the club as well as golf day early in the New Year. Pre season will begin in late November at Morris Park; more details will be available soon.
