Power A grade went into the game knowing Lockhart's ladder position did not reflect their ability. Lockhart started strongly and capitalised on Powers errors. Power was on the back foot and needed to worked hard to take control of the game. Cindy Charlton played a great game in GK, forcing her opponent to leave the circle to get the ball. Brooke Schilg continued her brilliant form from last week’s inter league match and was a driving force in attack. Power was down 5 goals at the main break and came out firing in the second half. Power applied pressure to Lockhart’s goalies and turned the game around. The lead changed a number of times and each time Power fought back, Lockhart stepped up the intensity. Power was unable to peg back Lockhart’s lead and went down by 4 goals in a tightly contested game losing 43 to 47.
B grade started with confidence and settled nicely into their game. Lockhart could do little to stop Power. Making the most of their opportunities, Power had a comfortable 16 goal lead at half time. Fantastic defence from Meghan Hanrahan and Hollie O'Donoghue made it difficult for Lockhart to find their goalies. Rosie Dye had an outstanding game in GS, and was well supported by Lauren Harders in GA. Power are working well as a team and were able to adapt to positional changes with ease. Power was relentless in the final quarter and increased their defensive pressure, allowing Lockhart to score only 4 goals for the quarter. Power played 4 quarters of good consistent netball to win by a resounding 26 goals, winning 57 to 31.

Karina Parr was an absolute star the entire game in WD/GD placing the Lockhart players under a tight defensive pressure. Lockhart started to fight back in the second quarter utilising a number of crucial turnovers to increase their score. Janice Mardling was superb again with her movement within the circle and defensive pressure up the court to help reduce Lockhart’s impact. Inters got off to a slow start, just 2 goals separating the teams at quarter time. Power soon found it’s rhythm, and played some very nice end to end netball. Rachel Hanrahan was very good in defence and got a number of turn overs. Emma Wilson played a great in WA and passed beautifully into the goalies. Hannah McDonald and Brooke Wilson worked the goal circle well and Lockhart found it hard to contain them. Power took control of the game in the third quarter and quickly put it out of Lockhart’s reach as Power ran out 52 to 32.
The Mod played their best game all year but the score line of 2 to 15 wasn’t a true reflexion of the game. Coach Grace Hanrahan was impressed with all the girls, especially the younger girls who stood out with their best games yet.
