Angus Hubert has won the AFL Brisbane Juniors Best & Fairest award in Under 16 Div 2. He also was joint winner of the George Turnbull Medal awarded to the player/s who poll the second highest number of votes across all divisions. Angus polled 31 votes while the winner Scott Miller (Sheldon College) polled 33 votes to win the O'Callaghan Medal.
Regarding the Best & Fairest award, Hubert has polled highly in recent years but has had to be content with runners-up status. However, this year on the back of further representative honours, he was declared the winner at the league's recent awards dinner. Angus' win is even more meritorious given that he accrued votes from among a very talented team who won the minor premiership and will contest the preliminary final this weekend.
The former Club Champion has also won what would surely be a junior club record of 3 consecutive Best & Fairest awards at the Pumas' end-of-season presentations. Hubert's consistent contribution as alluded to in the team's weekly match reports puts him among the very best of past and present juniors at the Springwood club.
Congratulations 'Gus.
