Onpaper there looked to be a fair difference between the two teams, however we faced a hungry opposition desperate for a win who took it
right up to us for four quarters. It took the team some time to adapt to the wet conditions in the beginning we were playing
dry weather football and Aquinas to their credit were able to get on top in the midfield and put our backline under some serious pressure. But once again the likes of Gibbs and Wilson were rock solid down back and didn’t allow the Aquinas forwards too many easy kicks.
To the guys credit we battled hard all day with the like of Diesel , Thorpe and Huston putting their body in and getting the hard ball. Dave
Crea in his first game back from overseas also showed some good signs up forward, not only did he kick 3 goals of his own but brought his team mates into the game on several occasions with good vision and selfless play.
With some players likely to come back into the side in the following weeks the signs are very positive for the team as we build for the finals.
Cheers Karl
