Our Tigers hopped onto a bus yet again to take on 6th placed Wilston Grange who fell less than a goal short against Palmy last week and were sure to test our boys.
With Nick Hammonds and Jarryd Bates joining Tompfy & Luke Tyrell on the sidelines, our boys opened with a slight breeze hitting the ball and the contest wth vigour and whilst our 14 point quarter lead wasnt indicative of the amount of ball we had, the signs were good.
In the second Noosa and the Gorillas produced an even contest and the home side showed repeatedly how to score from outside the 50 on the small oval, whilst our Tigers just couldnt get a key foward target to make use of plenty of forward thrusts.
The third saw our boys kick 4 goals to 2 and really should have kicked quite a few more, but again through Cubby, Ben Evans, Rabbit, Rizza and Bova we had performers who were hitting the contests hard.
Our 23 point 3/4 time lead proved in the end just not quite enough as the Gorillas with some extra help kicked 5 goals to our 1 which saw a draw despite our extra 5 shots at goal.
A good solid hit out with the game going right down to the wire with finals only 2 weeks away - a bit of work to do but a worthwhile contest just the same.
Multiple goal kickers: Rabbit 2, Jay Reynolds 2, Ryan Jeffery 2, Mick Gafa 2

Our Reserves had a very tough day at the office and faced the second placed Gorillas with players up & out and those that did take the paddock didnt return the result we would have liked.
3.8 to our 1.0 in the first 1/4 set the scene and our defence was under seige for the whole 20 minutes.
A further 3.1 to 1.1 in the second put us 32 points down at the main break and it was hard to find a winner bar Nat Johnson who was terrific at Centre Half Back. Glenn Braybon showed great courage backing into packs and taking plenty of punishment but it just wasnt enough.
Our third quarter was the only one where we outscored the opposition and it was the great work rates of Nackers McKenzie and Brendan Clohesy that gave us some encouragement however the lack of moving options and some ordinary disposal make it tough for the momentum to be maintained.
The boys didnt chuck in the towel, and we hope they have good memories if we face Wilston Grange in the finals, but the final siren was a welcome sound as the boys headed back to the rooms to work out ways to improve in the next week or two.
