Justin Claney had successfully found a niche in the Reserves side early in the 2009 season when he hopped on a plane for Europe.
Whether the two week family holiday has bitten Justin with the travel bug only time will tell but taking in the sights of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and the Netherlands certianly impressed our 19 year old defender with Paris and Amsterdam the cities that grabbed his attention the most.
Justin and his family (he has a sister and his brother Kye plays in the Tigers Under 16's) moved to Noosa when he was 8 so the only club he has pulled a jumper on for is Noosa. Clanes came through the grades with Chayse, Nick Hoekstra and Morgs and played mainly in the midfield until in recent years he has headed to the back half each week. A flag in the Under 16's and a Best & Fairest in the Under 12's in 2002 have been high points along the way as well as playing Reserves football at 16 years of age and playing his 2 A Grade games this year.
Away from footy, Justin is in the second year of a landscaping apprenticeship and whilst he wouldnt mind getting his eyes on the USA when he has got his papers, he isn't too fussed and it will depend on his bank balance mostly.
A taste of touch footy last year will probably see Justin keeping fit again this off season and certainly his rebounding defending performance in the two's this year will give him a solid platform to continue to develop and hopefully become a regular seniors player in the years ahead.
A quiet achiever who has performed well and won the respect of his team mates, we all wish Justin success in the years ahead.
