Maryann Jefferies of Macquarie University is this weeks AFL Sydney Volunteer of the Week
Maryann joined MUAFC in 2007, at a time when her husband Lee joined the Coaching ranks. Instantaneously, Maryann became a Club favourite and picked up the Canteen Manager role in her stride. Should you be at University Oval in the early hours of match day you will find Maryann running around setting up the Canteen, BBQ and many other aspects with her family generally in tow helping where they can.
With Maryann, nothing is a problem, highlighted when MUAFC won the rights to host the Northern area junior finals at University Oval. Moving from 500 per match day at the grounds to thousands, Maryann took control and provided the best Canteen and BBQ facilities in the Southern sky with great feedback.
Maryann provides one of those activities in a Club that often goes unrecognised, however, in her first year at the Club she was recognised with the Clubperson of the Year award for her efforts and is an award she could win every year! Her volunteer work at the Club is very much appreciated.
So for the best burgers in Sydney footy, get down to University Oval and try one, and while your at it congratulate Maryann in the Canteen for all the success she has brought to our Club due to her great efforts.
