On Saturday 11th July the Devon Meadows Football Club hosted their annual “Pink Panther” breakfast where all proceeds and donations were given to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Over $5500 was raised on the morning. A magnificent effort by the 120 women and men who attended the breakfast. The morning was highlighted by three Breast Cancer survivors- Jan Bruerton, Christine Carey and Dawn Leicester; who told the audience of their journey with Breast Cancer and the impact it has had on their lives. All three women have a passion for football- locally and through the AFL. They were three women who inspired all who attended. The audience were “waited on” throughout the morning by some buffed, athletic senior football players who donned their pink bow ties and shorts. A nice sight for an early Saturday morning. Devon Meadows Football Club would like to thank the three ladies for their insightful talks, the major sponsors- BJ Electrics, Splendor Kitchens, Premier Waste, NQX transport, Taylor made, Transfare Concreting, Nepean milk, New Dimension Homes, Mal Webster and Devon Meadows Egg Farm and all the tireless helpers who made the morning a fantastic fundraiser. Go Panthers!
