Welcome to Clare Oval for today’s South Clare vs RSMU Football and Netball matches. I hope that the earthworks on the old Tennis courts don’t cause too much disruption. We can all be a little patient in anticipation of a high standard sporting area once completed.
Good luck and well done to the organisers of the Australian Squash Open. This is a great event to be held in Clare. With Football, Netball and Squash happening in the one venue please understand that parking maybe limited.
In 1925 five Vandeleur brothers played in a premiership for Saddleworth. Since then their descendents have continued a fine sporting tradition. Many have played or are still playing Football or Netball for South Clare and RSMU. A few years ago it was decided to recognise the family connection between the clubs. When the two clubs play each other for the second time each year, A-grade Football will compete for the Vandeleur Cup. The presentation will happen on the oval at the conclusion of the match. It is anticipated that many family members will be present.
Congratulations to Matt and Chelsea Vandeleur on the safe arrival of Saige, a little brother for Estelle, and no doubt another Vandeleur to continue the tradition!
This week, we’d like to officially thank our Silver sponsors whose contributions are so much appreciated:
